The Story
Lisa C. Laird is the founder and CEO of NOLA Persistence, a company built on grit, mindset, and resilience. A New Orleans native, her journey into sales began after losing everything during Hurricane Katrina. Homeless and expecting her first child, she took a commission-only position with Aflac—and within 18 months, became a top-performing agent, launching a 20+ year career in sales and coaching.
For over 17 years, Lisa has trained hundreds of professionals, helping them build confidence, develop winning strategies, and perform at a higher level. But her greatest test—and transformation—came in 2020, when she stepped away from her career to care for her son Kaleb, diagnosed with Apraxia, Autism, Dyspraxia, and ADHD.
Through relentless persistence and advocacy, Kaleb went from nonverbal to thriving—now reading at age level. Their journey, featured by WGNO, became a defining chapter in Lisa’s life and the foundation for her message.
Her book, The Closer: Winning in the Game of Sales, is more than a sales guide—it’s a story of resilience, communication, and finding your voice when it matters most.
