The Story
Lisa C. Laird is the founder and CEO of NOLA Persistence, a company rooted in the power of grit, mindset, and resilience. A New Orleans native and Southeastern University graduate in Safety Engineering, Lisa’s journey into sales began after losing everything during Hurricane Katrina. Homeless and expecting her first child, she took a commission-only job with Aflac. Within 18 months, she became a top-performing agent, earning multiple awards and launching a successful 20-year career in insurance and sales coaching.

Lisa has trained hundreds of professionals over the last 17+ years, helping them develop winning sales strategies and stronger confidence. Her coaching experience began even earlier—as a gymnast-turned-coach at age 15, she has spent over 30 years leading championship gymnastics teams, judging competitions, and mentoring young coaches.

In 2020, Lisa paused her career to care for her son Kaleb, who was diagnosed with Apraxia, Autism, Dyspraxia, and ADHD. Through her dedication, Kaleb went from nonverbal to thriving, now reading at age level. Their inspiring story was featured by WGNO’s Bill Wood in June 2025.
Now back in business, Lisa brings unmatched passion to her mission of helping others succeed. Her first book, “The Game of Sales,” will be released in late 2025, blending her personal journey with powerful lessons in perseverance and sales mastery.
